Biography

Benjamin was born in Maine in about 1801. He was the son of Nathaniel Jordan (1766-1853) and Mary Jordan (abt.1770-).

Benjamin married Sarah Dyer in July 1828 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Maine, United States.[1]

Benjamin married Abigail Wallace on 6 July 1832 in Portland, Maine, United States.[2] Benjamin and Abigail had about five children.

Benjamin reported his occupation as distiller on the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census reports.

Benjamin was mentioned on a memorial in Riverside Cemetery, Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland County, Maine, United States with a death date of 23 December 1878.[3]

  • No notes found as to what arrangement was made with his first wife before he remarried. She is possibly this Sally Jordan who was counted with Benjamin's father on the 1850 U.S. Census.[4]
  • Note that the Geneanet Family Tree source on ancestry.com connects Benjamin's children with his first wife, Sarah Dyer. All located records indicate that Abigail Wallace was the mother of all five children.
