Andreas Jung (Andrew Young) arrived at Halifax from Rotterdam aboard the Ann in 1750, as a single man. He paid his own way, as did his father (?), which was uncommon among the migrants. He was (or became) a skilled carpenter or joiner.[1]
Several Jungs, all from the same town, migrated together on the Ann. That town was Lützelllinden, then within the political boundaries of the principality of Nassau-Weilburg.[2] Today it is in the District of Giessen in the State of Hesse, about 60 km due north of Frankfurt-am-Main.
