Michael (Michel in French records) was born in 1725 in Oberhoffen-sur-Moder, Offendorf District, Alsace, France under the Hanau-Lichtenberg Earldom. He was the son of Michael Jung and Margaretha Christmann. At age 24 in 1750, he married Anna Maria Heinrich in Oberhoffen. They lived and farmed in Oberhoffen and had eight children together, one of whom died young. Anna died in 1792. Michael did not remarry and lived to be 83 years old, dying in 1809 in Oberhoffen (now under the French administration in the Bas-Rhin Department) and buried there.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Michael by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Michael:
Agreed! Let's merge the various duplicates in this family. Having the French version of their German names in the records probably made it difficult to avoid making the duplicates in the first place! I am working on this branch just now, so will be filling in all of the records, their transcriptions and translations over the coming couple of months, so I can clean up the profiles then. I may also be creating profiles for the other children in the family (to confirm). I assume their names are originally in German, with the French version only used in the French-kept records. It appears that area came under the Bas-Rhin Department only after 1793, so will drop it as part of locations before that year. Hope that all makes sense!
I think the mother you attached is incorrect, it looks like it is actually his wife. I am going to remove [[Heinrich-273|Anne-Marie (Heinrich) Jung] as his mother.
