Casimir Jung / Young, Junior, son of Casimir Jung and Elisabeth Jung - both natives of Germany, was born on 21 May 1843 in Concord, Jackson, Michigan. [1]
In 1860 Casimir / Casimer Young is recorded as being seventeen years of age and living in the household of his father in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan. [2]
On 1 July 1863 Casmer Young was registered for the U. S. Civil War draft and was recorded as being born in 1843, and a resident of Concord, Michigan. [3]
"After attending the district schools", Casimir "entered the public schools in the city of Albion, where he attended the high school and later was a student in the business college there conducted by the late Prof. Ira. Mayhew. ... After leaving school Mr. Young returned to the farm and he has ever since been identified with Agricultural pursuits in this [Concord] township. He now owns a fine farm of two hundred and thirty-nine acres, upon which are the best of improvements, while the place is devoted to general farming and to the raising of a high grade of livestock." [4]
Casimir wed Mary Elizabeth Rodenbach on 3 December 1868 in Jackson county, Michigan. [5][6] They had a son, Franklin Frank C. Young.
In 1870 Casimer Jr. Young is recorded as being twenty-seven years old, male, white, farmer, born in Michigan, and living with his wife Mary next door to his father Casimer, step-mother Maria and brother Henry, in Concord township, Jackson county, Michigan. [7]
In 1880 Casimir Jr. Young is recorded living in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan; in his household are also listed his wife Mary and son Franklin C. Young. [8]
On 5 June 1895 Casimir's wife Mary Rodenbach Young passed away.
In 1900 Casimir Young is recorded together with his son living as boarders in the home of Christ and Barbara Smith in Concord, Michigan. [9]
Casimir Young, Junior died of an aneurism of the aorta on 10 April 1907 in Concord, Jackson county, Michigan, [10][11][12][13] and was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Albion, Calhoun county, Michigan. [14]

His parents, Casimir and Elisabeth (Young) Young [sic! should be Jung], were born near the city of Mentz [now spelt Mainz], in Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, near the river Rhine, and there they were reared and educated. The father emigrated to America in 1833, landing in New York City, and, after remaining in the East till 1836, he in that year came to Jackson county and in Concord township secured a large tract of land, effecting the purchase of two hundred and seventy acres. He became one of the representative and substantial farmers of the county. ... He died in February 1890, and his wife passed away in August 1857. Of their four children, two died in infancy, while their survivors are Casimir, who is the immediate subject of this sketch, and Henry, who is a resident of Albion, Michigan."

Rhodenbach, who was born in Wayne county, New York, June 1, 1849, and of this Union has been born one son, Franklin C., who was born on the 13th of November, 1870, and who completed his education in the Detroit Commercial College, having previously been a student in the Concord High School. He is now one of the successful and popular young farmers of this township. On the 27th of March, 1901, he was united in marriage to Miss Nellie A. Whittaker, of Concord township."
