Hello Beth,

I hope you're enjoying WikiTree.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Be sure to look for Duplicates before adding a profile, and always include Sources for your information.

The Help Index covers topics you may have questions about.

Our G2G Forum is where many of our generous members help each other out.

Visit our "Weekend Chat". Say hello, introduce yourself and see what other members are up to right now! http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/168542/weekend-chat-all-members-are-invited-31-july-1-aug-2015

Of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able.

Hi Elizabeth, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process that you might find helpful. Also, about 'Importing a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Sources are very important for genealogy - be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.

It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is usually editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.

To help you get started, view this introductory WikiTree video.

For a list of Member benefits, see Community Members page.

We also have Mentors who will be glad to answer questions.
