Hello Mike,

Me in a compact nutshell: I was born in Barbados but came to England as a student at Durham University in 1970 and then went on to Cambridge Uni to do my pH.D. Set up a wildlife production company with my husband and produced films for Survival, the BBC and Nat. Geo. Published environmental/wildlife books and now running a publishing co. and a smallholding in Weardale, Co. Durham. Last time visited B'dos was 2019 but hope to visit again this December. I am currently researching and writing a book about Benjamin Bynoe, surgeon on board HMS Beagle and other ships in the 1800s. He certainly saw life, including Ireland where he helped during the worst of the famines. I would like to find out John Bynoe's English roots, eg, if he emigrated to Barbados as an indentured servant, where he was born in England, etc. He probably emigrated to B'dos in the late 1660s as he was married in B'dos in 1670. I have a 218-page Barbadian Bynoe family tree. Hope you get this and am very much looking forward to hearing from you. (Also sent it as a private email but I don't think that worked a while back so using this route.)

Kind regards, Liz PS Am also interested in Charlotte Ollard, Benjamin's wife.

Sorry for the slow reply Liz, I did get the private email (via the spam filter) but have been woefully slow in responding.

. Sadly I have very little on Benjamin or Charlotte , only knowing of him via contact from someone who recognised his Wife's name in my tree. She was merely a name to me previously. I'm not descended from Charlotte & have to go back 6 generations to get a link to her which is sadly further back than any decent family records I've seen. I do have some info on her uncle William, (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ollard-8) but pretty much all I have is listed in my tree, so you've probably already seen it. I don't think I've even seen a second photo of him.

Sorry to be a dead end, & good luck with the book. Mike

Hey Hello!

How do you pass on freedom?

The DRP organizes our Annual Liberation Day Challenge again. Please join us!

Challenges are mainly meant to get to know each other better and to have fun with each other.

Again this year, we try again to give great resistance heroes a nice profile on WT, because they deserve it, also to provide them with ancestors and we also try to connect them to "our" WT.

Would you like to help? You are very welcome !

The Dutch Roots Challenge Project.

Hi Mike,

I was wondering if perhaps you would be interested to work on the Portal World-The Netherlands with Melissa and Bill and hopefully more members ? I was thinking maybe we can make it a sub Project of the Dutch Roots Project, where you all can add or work on more specific things related to the Netherlands you would like to see added there or work on.

If you are interested just add your name to the list and let me know, or you can of course contact Melissa or Bill directly.

Greets from the Netherlands,

Bea :)
