Richard, are you just wanting to explore our site to see if you have matches? That's perfectly okay with us. Everything is free here and you don't need to volunteer to do that.

You can do a search for ancestors under the 'Find' menu by clicking on 'People: Search' or 'Surnames.' As Mary mentioned, you can also leave a query at our forum.

If you're interested in helping us grow our worldwide tree by adding your branches or helping in some other way, please let us know and one of us will be very happy to confirm you. We're small, but growing very quickly and have members from all over the world. It would be good to have your information here even if there are currently no connections. Eventually they will come. :)

Hello;

You clicked on the volunteer button indicating that you would like to collaborate and add information. If that’s correct please leave another comment here on your profile and one of the Greeters will be happy to add you as a member of WikiTree. If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search function at the top of the profile page. You are welcome to do this as a guest.

I have spent some time and 300 USD on my DNA tests. I have tried Heritage but it's limiting - few matches.

I noticed you uploaded or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's is the link:

http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/GEDCOM

Feel free to message me if you have any questions! TIP: If your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree. Before creating a new profile, use the "search function" up on top to see if your ancestor is already here.
