Biography
John Kauffman was the oldest of nine children of Stephen Kauffman and Barbara Yoder.[1]
Research Notes
His birthdate was recorded in two pre-merge profiles as either c.1747 or 14 Jul 1751, in Berks County (which was not formed until 1752), but no source was provided for either date. The birthdates of other children of Stephen and Barbara also appear to be unsourced. Jacob Kauffman also has a birthdate of 14 Jul 1751, and it is assumed that this is his birthdate and not John's.
