A few years after Johns death she remarried[2] to Richard Schirmer (1870 - 1940) on 8 Nov 1902 in Harvey, Kansas, United States. They have a daughter Linda and adopted son Benjamin.
Elisabeth (Kaufman) Schirmer was born January 29, 1872 in Binzen, Baden, Germany, daughter of Johann and Maria Kaufman, (born Egle). She reached an age of 62 years, 6 months and 19 days. - She died 18 August, 1934.
At the age of 20 she came to America with her parents. They lived for a while at the Wirkler family, where Frau Kaufman was ill six weeks. Then the family lived in their own home.
The following year Elizabeth married John Mueller, who died and died four and a half years later. 4 years later, she joined Richard Schirmer (1870 - 1940) for the second time, which she now survived with the children. A sister, Mrs. A. Schowalter, preceded her in 1926 and another sister, Frieda Kaufman is traveling in Germany. They survive, in addition to the three own children, An adoptive son, 2 nephews and 2 nieces and 6 grandchildren.
In 1906 she was 6 months of trauma and 3 times of the doctors; But with God's help she was restored. And in this difficult time, when she lay in the hospital, she made a true experience of salvation, and could, in blissful certainty, say: As true as the sun is in the heavens, so I have forgiven sinners. She has done what she could and has kept her faith until the end (CBB 11 Sep 1934 p. 13) [3]
She is buried in the Swiss Cemetery, Whitewater, Butler, Kansas, United States of America.
