Biography
When 12 years old enlisted in the Rebellion as a drummer boy in the 149th Regt. Pa. Inf. After thus serving for two years he was promoted to bugler, whiich position he held for the remainder of the war, participating in many important battles, and was honorably discharged in 1865.
