Biography

Ethel Joan Keating was born 1 June 1931 in Boston, Mass.^[1] Her mother died just two weeks after her birth. Her father appears in the 1940 U.S. Federal Census as a widow, living with his mother Mary Keating in Brookline, Mass. Joan does not appear in the household.

She married Henry Whitney.

On 31 Oct 1951, she departed on the Scythia from Atlantic Seaports, Quebec, New Brunswick, Canada. ^[2]

On 26 Nov 1951, she returned on the Empress Scotland from Liverpool England, arriving in Quebec, Canada.
