Biography

Harry Celworth Keeler was born on September 25, 1888, in Diamond Lake, Lincoln, Minnesota, to H.R. Keeler and Nettie Shuttleworth.[1] He was tall and of medium build, with a light complexion, brown eyes, and black hair.[2]

In 1895, he was living with his parents, four full siblings, and his two half-siblings in Diamond Lake, Lincoln County, Minnesota. [3]

By 1900, his family, including his parents and five siblings were still living in Diamond Lake.[4] By 1905, they had moved to Ross Lake in Crow Wing, Minnesota with all five of his siblings.[5], four of whom were still living with them there at the time of the 1910 census.[6]

As of the World War I draft registration in April of 1918, he was working as a barber at the Spalding Hotel in Crosby, Minnesota.[2] He was drafted, and was listed as a veteran of the War.[7]

As of the 1920 census, he was a civil engineer living at 318 South Eliza in Pipestone, at the home of his step-brother, Elmer, and his family; his brothers Benjamin and George were also at this address then.[8]

He was married in about 1920 to Jennie M. They were living together on 42nd Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, where he worked as a civil engineer in transportation, at the time of the 1930 census.[7]

He died in Tacoma, Pierce, Washington, on December 27, 1976.[9] He is buried in Lakewood of this county at Mountain View Memorial Park.[10]
