Biography

Mary Almeda "Meda" Keene was born December 1869 in Maine.^[1] She was the daughter of William Keene and Margaret Jackson. At 7 months old she was in her parent's home in Dyer, Washington, Maine in 1870, along with 2 of her sibllings.^[2] By age 10, her family had moved to Guildhall, Essex, Vermont, where she was in the family home, attending School.^[3]

She married Charles E Knapp (1865-1932) on January 3, 1894 in Littleton, New Hampshire.^[4] They had no children.

Meda (age 30) and Charles (age 34) Were in Greenfield, Franklin, Massachusetts in 1900, where they were Lodgers. They were both Cashiers, she was working in a Restaurant, and he was a Cashier in a Wine Room.^[5] She was a repair clerk in a Freight Office in 1910, and Charles was a Die Maker in a Factory, in Greenfield, Franklin, Massachusetts. They were still living in a home as Lodgers.^[6] In 1920 they were in their own home in Greenfield, where she was working as a Bookkeeper for the RR Steam Freight Office , and Charles' occupation was Gage Maker in a Tap & Die Co. ^[7] Her occupation in 1930 was Cashier for the Railroad, and Charles was a Hotel Clerk. They had her mother, Margaret Keene-85,in the home with them.^[8]

She died on May14, 1932 at the age of 62, and was buried in the Green River Cemetery in Greenfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts.^[1]
