Biography

Leah, child of Matthew Keen & Martha Keen, was born on 20 November 1702 in Pembroke, Massachusetts.[1]

Leah married Ebenezer Churchel on 18 March 1728 in Rochester, Massachusetts.[2]

In 1751, Leah was appointed guardian to her minor children, Hannah, Ruth, Leah, Joshua, and Rebecca.[3]

Leah, spouse of Ebenezer Churchill, died (age 78) on 13 April 1781 in Plympton, Massachusetts.[4] Leah was mentioned on a memorial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States with a death date of 13 Apr 1781.[5]

Probate

Leah Churchill, of Plymton, widow died intestate and on 5 November 1781, John Churchill of Plymton was granted the administration of her estate.[6]

Her inventory was taken on 4 March 1782 in Plympton. Her real estate could not be divided with prejudice to spoiling the whole, so by law, it was settled upon the eldest son John Churchill, and he agreed to pay the other children their share, viz, Isaac Churchill, Joshua Churchill, Rebecca, wife of Obed Barlow, Ruth, widow of Jontahn Whitman, Hannah, wife of Jacob Atwood, and the heirs of Leah Atwood, decd.[7]

In 1783, an account of her estate by John Churchill was recorded which included a coffin, digging the grave, gravestones, nursing in the time of her last sickness (two and half months), and administration fees.[8]

Leah was mentioned on a memorial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA with a death date of 13 April 1781.[9]
