Information about Mark Snow Keen came from my gr., gr., grandfather, who was born in 1808. I suspect that Mark died, unrecorded, as a child, since he is never mentioned again.

Hezekiah Keen, born in 1702, who would have been the brother of "Mark Snow Keen", names all his siblings, specifying that there were 11 children, in his account (see comments below) including a brother Josiah who died young. If Hezekiah didn't mention him, and there's not other record of his existance, I don't know how we can record him. The other thing that makes me leary is the "middle" name, which was very uncommon in this area before about 1725-1750; when none of his siblings had a middle name.

According to my records, Josiah Keen Jr. had 12 children. The second, Josiah 3'rd, was born Sept. 27, 1683. no record of death. The sixth, also Josiah 3'rd, born 1691. Record says" Soldier - went to West Indies" - no record of death. The first Josiah must have died young, as did the next child. All were baptized in First Church of Marshfield, Ma. by Rev. Gardner, abt 1704.

Hezekiah Keen's Account book (see below) lists 11 children. Who is the 12th?

Josiah Keene's 12'th child is listed in my records as Mark Snow Keen. Comment says "Was alive in 1710". No birth or death record shown.

I'm aware of Snow Keen, born 1734 in Pembroke, son of Nathaniel & Thankful (Winslow) Keen; and Mark Keen born 1735 in Duxbury, son of Hezekiah and Alice (Howland) Keen. But I've never seen a Mark Snow Keen. Can you supply a source for him? Hezekiah's account doesn't mention a Mark or Snow among his siblings. I suspect there may be a conflation of other family in there somewhere.

Is there any evidence to support that he had two sons Josiah, as shown in the list of children above, the first dying young? The 1683 date is the only one I find in birth records. MFIP has only one son, Josiah, with a 1691 birth date, inferred by the placement in his father's will. However, if the will information shown above in the profile is in the same sequence as in the actual will, even with a 1683 birth year, Josiah would still have appeared between Benjamin and Nathaniel if all the sons were listed before the daughters. Hence I wonder about whether there really was a 2nd Josiah. Are there any sources that show both?

Interesting problem

It looks there were two sons Josiah attached some time ago, but in 2018 they were merged together based on not finding a VR in Duxbury for the younger of the two. So, we'll need to add a son Josiah back.

It was the younger one that was merged into the older one, so we'll need to recreate the younger one and move the spouse and children to the new profile.

The original source for the two sons named Josiah is Hezekiah Keen's Account book:

George Ernest Bowman, "Hezekiah Keen's Account Book with Family Records," Mayflower Descendant Vol. 28(1930):5.

Hezekiah says: "[At Marshfield] ... my Grandfather Josiah Keen mared with Abigil Lettel who he had my father Josiah Keen By & one Dafter Who Died young and my granmother Dyed allso & Left only my father Josiah Keen who married with Ledia Baker & theay had Eleven children whos Nams was Benjamin & Josiah who Died young & Abigil Elener Ledia & Josiah Nathanel Bethiah Samuel Isaac and my Self who is Hezekiah who was Born 1702"

Keene-1702 and Keen-844 appear to represent the same person because: Same father and child
Keen-1071 and Keene-98 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same parents, same death date

There seems to be some almost contradictory information here. A man who was born in 1710 would not be marrying a woman born about 1659. In addition, their child Lydia is shown as having been born in 1730 in North Carolina. Josiah seems to be the son of Abigail Little and Josiah Keene who was born in 1620.
