Albah was born in 1854. Although her DC lists birth in Cass, her parents were both in Jackson in 1850 and married in Jackson in 1853. She was the daughter of Fountain Keeney and Mary Wilson. Her father passed away in 1857 when Albah was almost 3. Her mother then married Rolin D Kincaid[1] and was in Cass by 1860. See her mother's profile for a beginning list of Albah's 1/2 siblings. I have not tracked them as of March 2017.[2]
Both Albah and her husband, James Madison Smith, passed away at 40th & Mitchell Ave, St Joseph, MO within five months of each other. The informant on both death certificates was Mrs. H C Black of the same address. Nursing home? Daughter? Both are buried together at Bryant Cemetery, Belton, Cass, Missouri.[3]Scotty, I wish you were here! I think I've found the answer to your question and have added it here.[4]
See photo. Albah & James list 29 years of marriage. Albah lists 5 children with 2 surviving. One child, Bertha, is still in the home which is now in Jackson. See link to Unknown Daughter below.
