I am not certain that *this* John is the son of Christian and Polly/Mary. It is clear that they did have a son named John. However, the only reference I can find to *this* John's origins is his birthplace of "North Carolina" listed on his adult census documents. I cannot find any mention of his parents' names, and there were many John Keller's born that year in North Carolina. His 1880 and 1900 census records do, however, show that both of his parents were born in North Carolina.
