Biography

A Tale of Two David Kellers

There were two men named David Keller of about the same age. One lived in Tyler Co VA/WV and the other in Tucker Co VA/WV. Both had wives named Mary Ann and both had daughters named Permelia of about the same age. Here the similarity stops. The wife of David of Tyler was Mary Ann Haddox while the wife of David of Tucker was Mary Ann Valentine. Daughter Permelia of Tyler died unmarried at the age of 19 while daughter Permelia of Tucker married four times and had a family.

Died.
David Keller died at the home of his son-in-law, William Burns, of old age and complications of diseases. He was 88 years and two months old. He passed a way very quietly after a week’s suffering to join the blood-washed throng, to sing the songs of the redeemed and bask in the sunlight of heaven, where there will be no more suffering, no more heartaches, no more farewells, but where all is joy and peace; where the tree of life casts its dewy shadow by the crystal streams that flow over golden souls, we expect to clasp glad hands and ever be at rest.
Rev. A. W. Holden will dedicate a serrman [sic] to his memory the third Sunday in August at Etam at 10:30 a. m.
