David S Keller (1893 - 1900)

When David S Keller was born on March 28, 1893, in Isabella, Michigan, his father, John Keller, was 29 and his mother, Elizabeth Hyslop, was 27.

He had one brother.

David, and his mother Elisabeth, drowned on May 20, 1900, in his hometown of Weidman, Isabella County, Michigan, USA , and were buried there in the Fairview Cemetery.^[1][2]

Double Drowning.

Mrs. John Keller and her seven year son of Nottawa township were drowned in Coldwater lake last Sunday. A company of men went out from the city to try Jimmie Hoag's new sail boat. They were joined at the lake by several from the surrounding country who had gathered there for the day and a merry company of fourteen set sail about three o'clock in the new boat which was the attraction of the place. A high wind prevailed and the boat rolled and pitched in an alarming manner, and had nearly crossed the lake when it capsized throwing the frightened occupants into the water where they were clinging to the submerged craft tossed, by the waves until help came from other boats on the lake: Mrs. Keller was floating upon the water but life was extinct and it was thought that her death was due to fright. The child to which she clung until she became unconscious had sunk and was not found that night. Mrs. Keller is a sister of Robert Hyslop who runs the hotel at the lake. She leaves a husband and other children.^[3]
