Leonard Henry Kellett was born in 1852 in County Down,Ireland, Ireland. [1]His parents were Edward Kellett and Anne Eliza Watson.
In 1898 he married Louisa Isabella Constance Somers in Portsea Island, Hampshire,[2] Leonard was a bachelor aged 46 and a Fleet Surgeon RN. He gave his address as 13 Palmerston Road, Southsea and listed his father as Edward Young Kellett, Surgeon-Major HM Army Retired. Louisa was a spinster aged 27. She gave her address as 24 St David's Road, Southsea and listed her father as Richard Somers, Major HM Army.[3] They had the folowing children:
He died on August 03, 1925 at 43 Waterloo Road, Bedford,, Bedfordshire, England, United Kingdom[4][5]
Probate was granted to his widow, Louisa Isabel Constance Kellett. [6]
In the 1881 census, Leonard H Kellett, a single man aged 28, born in Rosstrevor, County Down, Ireland is listed aboard HMS Moorhen positioned in the Singapore Roads in the China Station on 3 April 1881 and is described as a surgeon.[7]
In the 1911 census, Leonard and his family are living at 13 Rothsay Road Bedford, Bedford, Bedfordshire:[10]

1903 "Fleet-Surgeon Leonard Henry Kellett, M.D., M.A., has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Hospitals and Fleets in His Majesty's Fleet. Dated 5th December. 1903."[13]
