Joseph Kelley was born 23 Dec 1785 in Monongalia County, Virginia (now West Virginia). He died 02 Sep 1849 in Green Twp., Clark, Ohio. He is buried at the Obenchain Cemetery (also known as the Obenchain-Kelley Cemetery) in Clark County, Ohio.[1]
He married Mary K. "Polly" Detrow, daughter of John Detrow, on 24 Dec 1807 in Fleming County, Kentucky. [2]
Joseph and Polly would become the parents of eleven children: Mahala Kelley, Jacob Kelley, Catherine Kelley, Mary Kelley, Thomas Kelley, Nancy Kelley, Luranea Kelley, James Kelley, William C. Kelley, Samuel Kelley, and Eliza Jane Kelley.[3]
