Joanna Kellogg, daughter of Lieut. Joseph Kellogg by his first wife Joanna (Unknown), was born in Hadley, Massachusetts, 8 Dec 1664.[1] When Joanna was two years old, her mother died (shortly after the birth of her eighth child).[2] Her father Lieut. Joseph married for his second wife, eight months later, Abigail Terry, daughter of Stephen and Jane (Hardy) Terry.[3] Lieut Joseph Kellogg and his wife Abigail had eleven children.[4]
Joanna Kellogg married 29 Nov 1683 at Hadley, Deacon John smith, son of Lieut. Philip Smith.[5] They had twelve children, all born at Hadley, Massachusetts:[6]
John, born 3 Dec 1684, died Hadley 25 Dec 1761, age 77, m. Esther, dau. of Ephraim Coulton of Long Meadow, Mass. She died aged about 84, had eight children
Joanna, born 1 Sept 1686, m. 10 Jan 1705 ephraim Nash, born about 1682, son of Timothy Nash and Rebecca Stone
Rebecca, born 5 Aug 1688, m. 11 Jan 1710 Samuel Crow b. 11 Feb 1675, son of Samuel Crow who was slain in Turner's Falls fight 18 May 1676, and Hannah Lewis. She died 26 Feb 1715, he died 13 Feb 1761, res. in Hadley, had two children
Joseph, born 19 July 1690, m. Feb 1712 Rebecca Smith dau of Joseph Smith; rem to Sunderland, and afterward res. in Hadley, had six children
Martin, born 15 April 1692, m. 1715 Sarah Weir, they res. in Wethersfield, Conn.
Eleazer, born 25 Sept 1694, died unmarr. 3 Oct 1721
Sarah, born 18 Nov 1696, died 28 Oct 1697
Sarah, born 9 Nov 1698, m. (1) 22 May 1724 her cousin Samuel Kellogg, m. (2) 5 Jan 1749 William Montague of South Hadley forn 1692 son of John Montague and Hannah Smith
Prudence, born 15 Mar 1701, m. (1) Mar 1722, her cousin Timothy Nash of Long Meadow born 13 Nov 1699, m. (2) Deacon Ichabod Hinckley, he died 15 Mar 1756, she died 18 April 1774
Experience, born 19 April 1703, m. James Kellogg
Elizabeth, born 12 Oct 1705, m. 22 May 1708 her cousin Stephen Nash of Westfiled, he died 1764, she died 1790
Mindwell, born 25 May 1708, m. 3 May 1732 Benoni Sackett
Joanna (Kellogg) Smith died sometime after her husband.[8]
