Biography

Luke Kelly[1] was born April 3, 1757, in Shenandoah County (present-day Page County). He married Mary Keyser on February 1, 1782[2]. He died on November 25, 1821, in Lawrence, Ohio, at the age of 64, and was buried in Ironton, Ohio. [3]
Luke Kelly settled with his family, in Lawrence County, Ohio around 1797.
  • "He is credited with having the first grist mill in the county - a floating mill that he kept anchored on the river at what was later referred to as Union Landing. The mill, set on a flatboat, was secured by grapevines to the shore just above Union Landing. In operation for four or five years, it ground a coarse grain and could produce a bushel per hour running 24 hours a day during peak season."

Kelly-8429 and Kelly-3336 do not represent the same person because: It seems highly unlikely that Kelly-3336 and Kelly-8429 are the same person. One was born in 1840 and married in 1864. The other was married in 1782.
