Biography

Father of Fox newscaster Megyn Kelly. Education professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany. Died of a heart attack. His SSN was issued in New Jersey between 1957-58.

Edward—"an intellectual with a huge laugh," —taught at SUNY Albany's ed school and traveled a lot. When Megyn was a sophomore in high school, her father died. "It was nothing expected—not like he had been sick," she says. "He was fine. And then, 10 days before Christmas, he died of a heart attack in our house. I mean, the Christmas tree was there and everything." Almost 30 years later, her memories of him are faded and dreamlike, she acknowledges. "But I remember the essence of him. I remember he was loving and smart and funny, and always kind. Never had a temper—never. I remember him coming home from work and scooping me up and saying, 'Hiya, Tiger' every night."
