Het doel van de veranderingen der wetten in het begin van de 19e eeuw betreffende de Nederlandse naamgeving was zeker een familienaam in te voeren die over generaties stabiel bleef. Spelfouten en/of regionale schrijfwijzen internationaal EN OOK nationaal (!) hebben daar af en toe roet in het eten gegooid.... De moeilijkheid van de nederlandse spelling, vooral met de confusies over (ij, y, ei) helpen daar ook zeker niet! Zo veranderde bij verhuizing naar een anglo-saksiche taalgebied de familienaam Mooij in Mooy en van der Bilt in Vanderbilt....., en de Friese Meyer werd een Meijer in de rest van Nederland. Zo is het niet verwonderlijk dat een in Friesland geboren Kelly in de gemeente administratie van Druten de naam Kellij voerde en zijn kinderen met deze laatste spelling in hun respectieve geboorte aktes ingeschreven werden. En eigenlijk had het bij de oorspronkelijk uit Ierland stammende naam Kelly moeten blijven....

In dit (twijfels)geval is het aan de profiel manager te besluiten wat de juiste naam is. Wat Maria Franciska betreft, ook in haar overlijdensakte werd haar naam Kellij geschreven. Zelf neig ik er toe voor de LNAB die naam te gebruiken die in de oorspronkelijke doopakte of geboorte akte genoemd wordt, inclusieve spelling ook als deze niet dezelfde is als van zijn nakomelingen.
