Biography

Sarah, wife of Moore Bragg, was mentioned in the 1772 will of her father Matthew Kelly. [1]

Sally was born after 1730.

Sarah was born in 1738. She passed away in 1798.

Sarah's age may be off here. It was apparently estimated based on the presumed wedding of her presumed parents in 1738. No marriage document can be found for Sarah's marriage to her first husband William Bailey. Sarah mentions her first husband and their son John Bailey by name in her 1797 Richmond County Deed listed below.

First spouse was a Bailey. Marriage record lists marriage to Sarah Bailey but states that Sarah was the daughter of Matthew Kelly of Lunenburg Parish. Listed in will of John Bailey as his mother Sarah Bragg and f-i-l Moore Bragg .

Sarah Kelley married William Bailey circa 1750.

She left a will on 5 June 1772 at Lunenburg Parish, Richmond Co., Virginia, mentions daughters, Sarah Bragg (w/o Moore Bragg); Elizabeth Bragg. Executors were son, John, son-in-law, Moor Bragg and Fauntleroy Dye.

On 28 October 1797 at Richmond Co., Virginia, Sarah made a deed stating -- Sarah Bragg, widow of Moore Bragg, dec'd "out of the great love and regard I have and bear unto my beloved son Matthew Bragg ..." plus $1; all that tract lying in Mulberry Island Neck and Richmond Co, 15 acres of which I hold in fee under the will of my son, John Bailey , as will appear by his will dated 4 April 1780 [2], together with all my right and interest that may accrue to me as a survivor of my son, James Bragg, dec'd, as well as my interest in said tract of land held by my first husband, William Bailey, dec'd., or his and my son, John Bailey, dec'd. She died before 5 February 1798, as deed of land to son was recorded on this date. [3]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sally by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sally:

Kelly-16687 and Kelly-5689 appear to represent the same person because: Same names, same place of birth, same parents names (although these appear to be duplicate profiles as well), same spouse. These appear to be duplicates and should be merged.

There are 3 records for Sarah Eidson Kelly (Bailey, Bragg) wife of Moore Bragg (or William Moore Bragg). Recommend merging all three records together - this really looks like the same person. I've added some additional information about Sarah Kelly in the newest record. Information was from a deed Sarah executed in late 1797 which mentions the name of her first husband, 2 deceased sons, one living son. Either her birthdate (1738) is off or her marriage to first husband William Bailey is too soon ( circa 1750) since Sarah would have been just 12 years old at the time.
