Susannah Kelsey was born after 1765, in Pennsylvania, a daughter of William Kelsey and Agnes Gouldy. Susannah's father was an Officer in the Pennsylvania Militia, during the American Revolutionary War, and Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Ancestor #A064413.
Susannah moved with her family to Washington county, Tennessee. Susannah was a married woman when her father died in 1806, as she is remembered in his Will as Susannah Blair. Her daughter, Nancy Blair, born 1791, is also in her grand-father's Will. [1]
On August 30, 1785, in Washington county, Tennessee, Susannah married Lieutenant John Blair, Jr., son of John Blair and Martha (Laird) Blair. John was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, and Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Ancestor #A010855. The descendants of Susannah and John are members of this Society.
Susanna(h) died August 20, 1829, in Washington county, Tennessee and is buried in the Salem Cemetery, in Limestone, Washington county. [2]
Susannah's grand-father presumably born in Ireland, where the spelling of his surname may have been Kelsay. Susannah's father's DAR records are under the name Kelsey. Susannah Kelsey is listed as the wife of John Blair on his DAR records. Susannah's maiden name is given as Kelsey on her Find A Grave memorial. I am merging into the profile with the surname of Kelsey, and marking Kelsay as a possible alternate name. jg, March 17, 2020
