Peter was born on June 28, 1749 and baptised Johann Peter in the Monocacy Lutheran Congregation of Frederick, Maryland, on July 29, 1749. The sponsor was Peter Kempff, brother of Peter's father Friederich (Frederick) Kempff.[1]
Peter was named in his father Frederick's 1800 will and was executor along with his brother Ludwig.[2]
Peter died intestate; his heirs were named in a Frederick County Chancery Court case in March 1812: wife Mary; the sons of his deceased daughter Eve, Frederick (age 13) & Samuel (age 11) Cronin/Cronise; and children Mary, Esther wife of Valentine Toup (Doub), Margaret, Sophia (age 17), Jonathan (age 14), Ezra (age 13) and Peter (age 8).[3]
