Biography

Andrew Kemp is part of a Bahamian family.

Andrew was born 19 December 1858 in Key West, Florida.^[1] He was the son of Richard Moore Kemp and Ann Lowe.

He married Mary Lorinda Herttell on 7 June 1882 in Key West in a ceremony performed by Chas. T.D. Lyne, Rector of St. Paul's Church.^[2] The couple had no children.

Andrew died on 17 July 1941 in Key West,^[3] and he is buried there in the City Cemetery.^[4]

Harllee presents his name as Andrew James, perhaps misreading an abbreviation of his middle name in the Bible record (Jas. instead of Jos.).
