John William Kemp was born on Feb 29, 1916 in Sharon, Weakley, Tennessee, USA as the first child of Joe L Kemp and Young Allem.[1] He had two siblings, namely: Annie K, and Joe E. He died on Jun 19, 2000 in Tallahassee, Leon, Florida, USA (Age at Death: 84).

When he was 60, he married Sara Elizabeth Harvey, daughter of John Calvin Harvey and Lydia M Clark, on Sep 09, 1976 (date on headstone).

JOHN W. KEMP

John W. Kemp, 84, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Monday, June 19, 2000, in Tallahassee.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Olive.

A retired truck driver, he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Laurel. He served in World War II and received the Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Kemp.

He is survived by one son, Ronald T. Kemp of Tallahassee; one daughter, Barbara A. Murphy of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one brother, Joe Kemp of Lansing, Mich.; one sister, Annie Katherine Knight of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins is in charge of arrangements.[4]
