Biography

Elvira (Sands?) Kemp married Benjamin Edward Morton. She was his second spouse and the mother of most of his children.. It is not certain whether Sands was Elvira's middle name or a mistake made in the birth record of one of her children.

Ida Jane Griffin ( the record erroneously says Ida was Benjamin's daughter in law (immigrated 1910) but it fits his daughter Ida Jane who married Urbane Griffin , labeled below Ida as son in law. Urbane immigrated in 1917.)

In 1954 FL Naturalization Application, Elvira states she was born Pear Cay, Eleuthera 7 Feb 1877 and married B.E. Morton at Palmetto Point, Eleuthera 4 Nov 1890
