Biography

Johann Frederick Kemp[1][2][3][4][5][3] was born on 28 February 1725 in Germany Untergimpern, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany,[6][3] the fifth of eght known children and the third of four sons of Johan Kämpff and Anna Feuerbach.
He was baptized on 25 February 1725, three days before he was born :-) in Obergimpern, Baden, Germany[5]
In 1744, when he was in his late teens, he married Regina Shoup, Regina Unknown. She bore him seven known children, five sons and two daughters:

  4. Ludwig Kämpff
  5. Anna Maria Kämpf
  6. David Kemp
  7. John William Kemp.
In 1733, he migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania[6]
In 1790 and 1800 he was living in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland.[1][2]
On 7 February 1804, just three weeks before his eighty-first birthday, he died in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland, of unknown causes.[3]
Frederick wrote his will on 4 November 1800; it was probated on 29 September 1804. Frederick doesn't mention his wife Regina in his will, so she presumably died before him.[7]
