John Kemp, transported in 1679 was of Baltimore County by 1683
According to John Kemp’s will dated 1686 and filed 1687 his wife was Sarah Wichell, his children Mary & Richard. Also mentioned in his will was Elizabeth daughter of Nicholas Corbin, Nicholas Corbin Junior and Mary his sister. John’s property included a Plantation called Parker’s Haven, Kemps Addition and Clay Bank. In May 1708, Richard Kemp and Mary Kemp Boring conveyed 100 acres of Kemp's Addition and 100 acres of Parker's Haven to Nicholas Rogers. In September 1711, Richard Kemp and John and Mary Kemp Boring conveyed Clay Bank to John Gardner
Mary Kemp was married to John Boring by Aug 1704 when they sold property to Henry Shortes boatwright. It appears Mary died between July 1713 when John & Mary sold property to Joseph Hoare and 1715 when John alone sold property to George Pickett. By Jan 1718 John was married to Precelia when they sold land to Thomas Ford.
According to Richard Kemp’s will dated Nov 1725 & filed Feb 1725? His wife was Susannah, son’s, were John & Richard and his daughter Mary. Richard’s estate was left to Susannah & John. Richard was left out of the will unless John died without issue and until Mary was 16 she was to live with Mary Tipton. Test: Samuel Merryman, Thomas. Ford, Jonathan Tipton, Jr., John Tipton.
My assumption is that Mary was Richard’s daughter from a previous marriage and that Mary Tipton was probably her aunt. Mary Tipton (maiden name Tindall) was Jonathan Tipton Jr’s. second wife (he was a test. To Richard’s will). Her first husband was Humphrey Chilcoat. Richard was left out of the will unless John died without issue so I suspect Richard was Susannah’s son from a previous marriage.
I’ve estimated the dates I use based on the above information. I’ve done a lot of guessing so things could change If I find more information.
I, as well as many others, have assumed Elizabeth Corbin is John Kemp’s sister. I’ve estimated her birth date at 1646, it could be earlier but probably not much later. Nicholas would probably be about 6 years older than Elizabeth so I’m estimating his birth at 1640. If Elizabeth was married at 21 the estimated marriage date would be 1667. I’ve assumed Elizabeth was her first daughter, estimated birth 1668, Mary estimated birth 1670, Nicholas estimated birth 1704. Elizabeth wasn’t mentioned in John’s will so I assume she died before Dec 1686
John Kemp arrived in Maryland in 1679 eight years after Elizabeth Corbin so I’m assuming he is a younger brother and guessed his birth date at 1650 that would make him 29 when he arrived. He died early in 1687. My estimate for their marriage date would be 1681, and Sarah's birth date 1660. Mary was married by 1704 so she was probably their first child and I estimated her birth date at 1682 and her marriage to John Boring in 1703. I estimated Richard’s birth at 1684 and his first marriage about 1710 about the time he & Mary sold their father’s property.
