Biography

Sarah Kendall was born in 1769 in Colony of Virginia, daughter of William Kendall (~1740–~1777) and Sarah Foster (~1743–1830).

Sarah and Robert Shears secured a marriage bond on 10 November 1789 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, United States.[1]

Sarah (age 19) married Robert Finley Shearer (age 21) on 10 November 1789 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, United States.[2][3][4][5][6] Their children were:

Sarah was mentioned in her husband's will, dated 25 October 1845, and signed in Ashe County, North Carolina, United States.[7] [8]

In 1850, Sarah (age 81) was living on her own near her son John Shearer in Watauga Township, Watauga County, North Carolina, United States.[9]
