DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
I suspect the parents of kendrick-721 are likely Levi and Delia Kendrick whom I find on the 1870 census. 1870 Census, Page 63, City of Elgin, County of Kane, State of Illinois; 7/21/1870. The father of William Kendrick was said to be born in Canada. William was employed at the Elgin Watch factory at Elgin, Illinois. The children of Levi and Delia are identified as Charles, Frank, Fred, and Adelia. This would require that Wm. F and Frank be the same person. If so the ages fit well. I haven't thought of anyway of establishing the veracity of this conjecture.
Thomas Kendrick told me that William and his wife Anna Belle had both worked in the Elgin watch factory in Elgin, Illinois. Family tradition has it that the Kendrick line had roots in Canada and before that France and before that Ireland.
