My mother's ancestors are from Mexico (Jalisco & Aguascaliente), though I was told my grandfather's line (Rangel) came from Spain and am searching to find the link and the area of Spain where they are from. On my father's side, my grandfather came from Northern Ireland - some of his family stayed there and others came to Canada and the US (Niagara Falls). My grandmother's family was split up during the Great Depression. She was born in the States but her ancestors are German and Danish.

Hi Stephanie,

Yes, that Daniel Axtell is the same as the link on wikipedia you mentioned. There is considerably more information about him and the rest of the Axtell lineage to be found on http://axtellfamily.org/ I was discussing this with my Aunt this past year who has one of the Axtell books and was very excited to tell me all about Daniel.

Best!

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

Hi, I am really excited about this project. So much of my family history, as I am sure others whose ancestors immigrated to the States have similar cases, was lost over the years and I'd love to help collaborate to see how we are all related.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Hi Stephanie,

Welcome as a guest to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile for every person.

A couple suggestions to get you started:

1. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

2. Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum.

3. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.

If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let us know. Please include a bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.

Good luck growing your branches.
