The ship was quarantined in harbour until 6 Jan 1855 due to an outbreak of Measles on board [3] She was engaged by Mrs Rippendale of Portland as a domestic servant for a period of 3 months. [4]
Honora married Thomas Derby in All Saints Church, Portland, Victoria on 29 Nov 1856.[5]
Honora and Thomas had 3 children in Portland before moving to the Coonawarra region of South Australia around 1861, where they had a further 6 children, some of whom attended the school founded by Saint Mary McKillop in Penola, South Australia.
She passed away in 1893 from sepsis resulting from a hand injury. [6][7][8]
