Albert is the second of four children born to Rollie and Emilie Kennedy. The other children of Rollie and Emilie were Sylvia Evelyn, Nina Pearl, and Helen Myrtle. Rollie worked as a ranch hand, fur trapper, and farmer so the family moved around the western plains in an irregular pattern. Some of these locations included Mansfield, Missouri; Melvin, Colorado; Pumpkin Butte, Wyoming; Tucumcari, New Mexico: and Sand Point, Idaho.

Albert went to school when it was available up to the fifth grade. There after he pursued opportunities similar to his father such as fur trapping, hunting and sheep herding.

On August 5, 1937, Albert married Grace Lea Loveall^[3] in the Denver, Colorado area. They had three boys, James Albert, George Lee, and Henry Ray. Albert responded to his draft summons but was rejected as the military needed wool and meat more then they needed Albert. Albert and Graced where divorced and Albert was arrested for stealing sheep. He served most of his time on work ranches due to influence from the ranchers in the Denver area.

Albert lived in the Denver Colorado area for most of his adult life where he worked as a sheep sheerer and fur trapper into his eighties. He married Katherine Bock in 1970.
