Michael Kennedy was born in County Kilkenny, Éire in 1835, son of Thomas Kennedy (abt. 1815– ) and Bridget Power (1802– ).[1]
Michael married Ida Loder (born March 2, 1870 in Old Jessie's Bridge, New Jersey; daughter of Zenos Loder (abt. 1826–1898) and Mary Jane Platts (abt. 1829–1879)). Their children were:

Michael died on January 1, 1911 in Ocean City, New Jersey, United States, aged 75. He was buried in Seaside Cemetery, Marmora.[2]
