  • Elijah's Order-In-Council was dated 26 MAR 1811. He owned and operated the Albion Mills with his brother John. 1812 Served as a Lieutenant with the 1st Lincoln Regiment in the War of 1812. Later when he moved to Barton he became a Captain, and later a Major in the 3rd Gore Regiment, Ancaster - OC 26 Mar 1811. Took part in the Battle of Queenston Heights, one of the officer's who escorted Col. Winfield Scott to Niagara after his capture at Queenstown. Also in Battle of Niagara, was taken prisoner of American. Later escaped and gave information on Americans to Sir John Harvey who met Americans at Stoney Creek 5 Jul 1813 and captured American Generals Chandler and Winder.
