Biography

Rachel Kerr was born October 26, 1782, a daughter of William Kerr and Martha Adair. On August 3-, 1804, in Ross county, Ohio, Rachel married James Cochran. [1]

Rachel (Kerr) Cochran died September 30, 1837, at the age of 54 years and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, in Lafayette, Tippecanoe county, Indiana. [2]

Researchers Notes

Find A Grave indicates that Rachel was born in Fayette county, Ohio, but Ohio did not exist at the time of her birth. On February 19, 1810, the Ohio government authorized the creation of Fayette County. The county was originally parts of Ross and Highland Counties.
