Thanks for your note. BINGO!
Largest segment = 7.8 cM
Total of segments > 1 cM = 34.4 cM
13 matching segments
For the genetic distance, 7.8cM is plausable, however we should be careful not to make assumptions because we could potentially have a different match. I am over 50% French & I see you have relatives in Alsace.
"Mathieu Beaufils" / Bovee 1664-1717 m. Catrina Barrois is my 7x great-grandfather. Oddly, where I found no connections with Beaufils, Boffie, Bovee, Bovie, I did find search results for Barrois.
I thought of it afterwards. On Ancestry I am included in a DNA circle for my 4x great-grandfather 1765-1835, "Matthias Jochem Matthew Bovee" DNA Circle, there are 4 of us and I match 2. Sue
I'm looking at records in Alsace (Schweighouse-sur-Moder) at the moment and think there's a good chance Michael Reinagel and Catherine Bardol were from that place too. I've come across another Bardol/Reinagel marriage not long ago. I'll keep you posted if I find more. Hope it's OK. I'm not related but I'm French with some pratice around French archives. Greetings, Isabelle R
