Biography

The Kerr surname was also written Ker, Carr, Carre, etc. There was little consistency.

Census records show that Helen Kerr was born about 1827 at Eccles, Berwickshire, in southern Scotland. But some records show her name as Ellen rather than Helen.

She married William Aitchison in December, 1852 at Abbey St. Bathans, and they were then listed together in 1861, 1871 & 1881 censuses at Longformacus.

Helen was in the 1891 & 1901 censuses at Abbey St. Bathans. No record of her death has yet been found.
