A contract for the marriage of Lady Mary Kerr and James Douglas, 2nd Marquess of Douglas was signed on 13 December 1692 at Newbattle Abbey, Newbattle, Scotland. She died on 22 January 1735/36 at age 61 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
