He married Rachel Webster 14, 10th month 1762. Rachel was born 28, 11th month 1742. Hermanus was taxed as a household in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1778. He owned one cow and one pig. His name does not appear on the 1780 tax list. The family may have moved to the Morris County, New Jersey area as their son, Richard, was married there."
