Biography
Amsia was born in 1843 to William Key and Marilyn Patsy Knowles.[1] She married John Kenimore Rice. Their children were:
- 1. Samuel Rice 1864 - 1946
- 2. Evelyn Rice Boggs 1866-1962
- 3. John Howard Rice 1869 - 1963
- 4. Charles Andrew Rice1875 - 1972
- 5. George Washington Rice 1876 - 1956
- 6. Lump Rice 1877-1959
- 7. Henry Dock Rice 1884 - 1962
- 8. Amsia Caroline Rice Messer 1886 - 1941
The 1900 census states that she had 9 children with 8 living in 1900.[2] Amsia died in 1927[3] and is buried in Fowler Cemetery, Randolph County, Alabama.[4]
