Biography

John Kibler was the son of Henry Kibler or Heinrich Kubler. Born in Shenandoah County, Virginia, 1765, his parents were immigrants from Germany the year 1764, Henry was a well known skilled carpenter and a veteran of the Revolutionary War who supplied mutten to the army. Henry was the father of John, William, Christian, Adam, Martin and Phillip.

John married Eva Margaret Pence on May 30, 1793, a John Kibler married 1775, this must be John's uncle, the indexed record states a Eve Hershberger, not Eve Pence, the 1790 Census gives the Pence family has 14 heads of households and one Henry Harshberger her step-father.

Many of the German families of the Shenanoah Valley came from Pennsylvania, Henry Kibler most likely was related to the Pennsylvania Kiblers, most family historians place Henry's birth 1730 to 1735, maybe Palatinate the German wine county on the Rhine River.

The 1783 and 1785 Shenanoah Tax Records - Familysearch.org Wikipedia page shows the following names for Kibler family, they are Henry, Phillip, John, William, Phillip and Christian. [1]
