Finson Bridgham and Lydia C. Kidder were married on September 16, 1828, both of Gorham, Maine. He was born in Hebron, Maine the day before Christmas in 1802.
In 1830, Finson and Lydia appeared to be living in his parents’ household in Leeds, Maine.
In 1840, Finson Bridgham, of Greene, Maine, was head of a household consisting of 1 male under 5 (____), 1 male 30 to 39 (Finson was 38), 1 female under 5 (Mary was 3), 2 females 5 to 9 (Ella was about 4, Melinda was 8), and 1 female 30 to 39 (Lydia was 37). One person was employed in agriculture, and one in manufacture and trade. Who was the young boy? An undocumented child who died young?
In 1850, he lived in Winthrop, Maine, where he was a carder. His household included himself, his wife Lydia, daughters Melinda, Ella, Clara, and their son Henry. Except form Melinda, the children all attended school. Another eight people (with seven different surnames) lived in the same dwelling.
In 1860, Finson and Lydia lived in Winthrop. He was a factory owner with a personal estate worth $800. His family consisted of his wife Lydia, their daughter Clara, and their son Henry, a boot maker. Henry had attended school. The family lived in the household of his son-in-law, Gustavus F. Whitman, who had married Finson’s daughter, Mary K.
Lydia (Kidder) Bridgham died in Winthrop, on April 11, 1863 at the age of 59.
Finson Bridgham died on December 1, 1875, at the age of 73.
Finson and Lydia are both buried in the Maple Cemetery in Winthrop.
