Biography

Lucy was born in 1753, daughter of Joseph Kilbourn and Mary Hollister . NOTE: surname is spelled Kilborn in early records.

Birth date problem

An alternative birth date appears in the early Connecticut records as March 4, 1758 in Glastonbury listing her as d. Joseph & Mary. However, Lucy's tombstone and records of her death give her age at death in 1847 as 94 years of age, making her birth year 1753. It is possible that the transcriber for the Barbour collection of records mistranscribed or misread the year 1753 as 1758, but this would need to be checked by viewing the original records. Unfortunately there is no clue available from the original record's page number, as this page appears to cover a period from the 1740s until at least 1760.^[1]

Marriage

She married Elizur Tryon, son of Noah Tryon, in Glastonbury, Connecticut January 31, 1776.^[2]

Death

Lucy Kilbourn passed away in 1847 at the age of 94, "Relict of Elizur Tryon and daughter of Joseph Kilbourn Sr.".^[3][4][5]
