Biography

Joseph was born in 1793, the son of Sargent and Love (Ladd) Kimball, in New Hampshire where he was raised.

On February 10, 1817, he married Clarissa Sturtevant, the daughter of Hosea and Sarah Mary (Paine) Sturtevant, in Moultonborough, Carroll County, New Hampshire.

Joseph and Clarissa would have the following children:

Albert Russell Kimball (1819–1879)

Lucy A. (Kimball) Goodwin (1821–1895)

Sarah (Kimball) Horn (1826–1868)

Lydia Kimball (1831– )

Joseph would live until 1878, passing away at 84 years of age. His body is buried in the Baptist Burial Ground in Center Sandwich, Carroll County, New Hampshire, along with Clarissa and several other Kimball relatives.
